The Maze: a novel

The Maze is based on an old idea in fantasy fiction: that everyday places can be portals to parallel dimensions.

While the basic concept has been around for years, I don’t think anyone has previously adapted it to a corporate office building (?)

(I’ve spent many, many hours of my life in office buildings. And given my poor sense of direction, I’ve often gotten lost!)

One day I got to thinking: What if an office building contained secret rooms that were filled with reptilian creatures, killer robots, and even humanoid wolves?

What if a long, twisting hallway in an office building led to someplace else entirely?…The world beyond “the Maze”?

The characters in this novel are people who will be familiar to you if you’ve ever worked in an office: There’s Amanda, the hard-driving sales manager with a secret heartache…Hugh is the middle-aged mentor who never climbed the corporate ladder. (And Hugh as a secret, too!). Evan is the ambitious young staffer who strains against the corporate bureaucracy.

I enjoyed finding out what would happen when the rules of reality are dramatically altered in a familiar setting, with familiar people. I hope that you enjoy The Maze, too.
