Today is April 1st, traditionally known as April Fool’s Day. This is a day for pranks, practical jokes, and gotchas!
But maybe not this year.
I wish I could tell you (I wish someone would tell me) that the news of recent weeks has all been a big put-on, a sham, an illusion staged by someone to scare us all.
Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Let’s hope for progress on the scientific front this month, and maybe some modest restart of the economy by May Day.
These are serious times, and no one is in the mood for pranks this April 1st.
Keep safe, take care of your loved ones, and pray for better times.
We’ll have April Fool’s next year, perhaps.
